Goods and packing details
A product link helps begin the discussion; a shipping quotation also needs to describe the goods as they will travel. We discuss the contents, quantity, packed dimensions and weight, together with the destination and receiving arrangement. If the supplier has not finished packing, identify which details are estimates and which will be available later. The team can then explain what still needs confirmation before the shipment is priced on its final basis.
Work included in the quotation
Discuss purchasing, warehouse handling and transport as parts of the same plan. Supplier coordination, agreed checks, storage, consolidation and packing may each involve work beyond the main carriage. Ask which tasks the quotation includes and how a change in the goods or instructions would affect it. For repeat purchases or store orders, explain the expected pattern of arrivals and dispatches so the handling arrangement can be discussed alongside the individual shipment.
